Message from the CEO

Charlies Meat is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner, and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Introduction

Charlie’s Meat strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility.

Our business is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. This accessibility plan outlines the steps Charlie’s Meat is taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

Our plan shows how Charlie’s Meat will play its role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.

Section One: Past Achievements to Remove and Prevent Barriers

This document includes a summary of the accessibility initiatives Charlie’s Meat has completed.

Customer Service

We have remained in compliance with the Customer Service Standard. Customers can submit their feedback by email, telephone, mail or in-person.

Information and Communications

We have developed and updated our company website which fulfills the (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA website requirements in accordance with Ontario’s accessibility laws, where customers can gain access to all our products and service information. They can place their orders by email, telephone or text message.

Employment

When requested, we will accommodate disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired.

If needed, we will create an individual accommodation plan and/or workplace emergency information for any employees who have a disability.

Our performance management, career development, redeployment, and return-to-work processes will take into account the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities.

Section Two: Strategies and Actions

We review our policy and plan annually to make sure they meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and to remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities.

Customer Service

Charlie’s Meat is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods and services to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.

We will continue to provide training to all new employees and also existing employees of our Customer Service Policy in order to comply with the Customer Service Standard.

Information and Communications

Charlie’s Meat is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities.

We will continue to provide digital copies of our documents in accessible formats upon request. We will update our communication platforms in a timely manner to make sure they are accessible to people with disabilities.

Employment

Charlie’s Meat is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.

When requested, we will continue to accommodate disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired.

Charlie’s Meat will meet accessibility laws when building or making major changes to public spaces.

Charlie’s Meat will put procedures in place to prevent service disruptions to the accessible parts of our public spaces.
